Well, what really is there to say? 50 years......50 years, now that is an accomplishment. The longest running sci-fi in existence, and probably the best programme in existence as well. As far back as I can remember, I have always loved this show with all my heart. It's more than a passion, and it exceeds an obsession. I don't think there is a word to describe my love for it. But now, today, on the 23rd of November, it celebrates its 50th birthday, and deservedly so. This show has an uncanny ability to speak to me in a way that nothing else can, to teach me things that nothing else can, and to introduce me to friends within a community that just isn't matched anywhere else.
Usually I'd be able to work up a long detailed written tribute to this fantastic show, but honestly, the shock alone of the significance of this date, it just leaving me quite speechless....and might I say, teary-eyed. But alas, a written tribute will have to wait, I have Doctor Who episodes to attend to
Happy Birthday Doctor Who, and may you live on eternally.
